directory properties dialog does not show up under xp pro

all,

i have a problem with my xp pro. i can't see my directory properties
any more.
every time i right click a directory and choose "properties" from the
context
menu, simply nothing happens. other actions from the menu work just
fine.
the ony exception this behavior is my harddisk (under my computer) and
shortcuts to directories that i have on my desktop.
i've checked for the "noContextMenu" entry in the registry and my
policy settings as well (i am member in the administrators group on
that machine).
here's my configuration (just in case that helps):
- xp pro sp1 all current windows updates installed
- zonelabs integrity client
- norton antivirus ce
any idea is appreciated!
