DirectCD (Roxio) message keeps on appearing on the screen

Every time I switch on my computer Windows displays a
message saying that a driver that has been installed
would cause instability if activated and then it tells me
to go to Roxio's homepage. I do go there but what comes
on the screen is the details of a program that you have
to purchase if you want to use it. I would like to get
rid of this annoying message by getting rid of the driver
that is causing the problem but I don't know how to do
it. I would be grateful if someone could help me.

You have - or had - an old version of Direct CD that is not compatible
with XP, and has been disabled. It has left 'orphaned' references in
the registry. Remove any CD burning software you have in use, then To
tidy up, get a registry patch file, cdgone.reg, from
www.aumha.org/downloads/cdgone.zip, extract it, r-click on it and merge
it into the registry

You will then need to reinstall any burning software that you use.
