Direct X 9 Error

I play EQ2 (alot) I have an Alienware computer 150gb hard drive, my vd card
is an Nvidia Geforce 6800 gt, drivers are updated. I'm running windows xp and
all upgrades for it. Recently i have been getting 2 error messages, i'll
include the whole message 1 time as the only thing that changes is the bottom
line. The message is as follows:
<verify>eq2\live\eq2\framework\core\devices\scc\DIRECT
X9RENDERDEVICE.cpp(1059) Failed to create D3D device for Nvidia Geforce
6800gt.

Know i thought i had fixed it, but after only 5 mins., of being online with
the game i get the same message as above except for the last line which goes
as follow: DIRECT X ERROR (D3dERR_NOT AVAILABLE).

ANY advice on how to fix this?

Try downloading the latest Direct X "redistributable",open in empty folder,
locate the .exe, run the utility,xp will install the files auto.Once youve
restarted
xp,go to run, type:DXDIAG Run the Direct X tests.

No it did not work, in fact know when i load game i can play game for about
15 mins., and then it freezes, montitor goes black and then shuts off, but
the computer is still on, when i turn on montior there is a sign that says
monitor is working but there's no signal, so i reboot the computer and the
montior comes back on. i have all the latest downloads for directx 9.0c all
drivers for graphics card are up to date also. Any other ideas?

Try lowering graphics hardware acceleration slide. You can lower
graphics hardware acceleration in Display Properties, Settings tab,
Advanced button, Troubleshooting tab. If this helps, you probably need
a different graphics card or drivers.
