Dimage XT can't connect

I am unable to connect the Minolta Dimage XT digital
camera to my desktop (usb port) via the hardware wizard.
Says that "data is invalid". Driver is supposed to come
with XP. Other USB devices work fine on this port.
rebooting etc. does not help. Any guidance is
appreciated! Thanks!
