Digitally sign a macro

Freddy G.

Here's my dilema: I created a macro to help filter some
of my email but when I try to run it from the toolbar I
receive the message -- 'ThisOutlookSession' contains
macros -- and it prompts me to Enable or Disable macros to
execute the one I created. If I allow all macros to be
enabled then it will run fine, but it seems like its
defeating the purpose of having a security setting when
I'm basically enabling macros to run anyway.

I don't want to lower my security settings to low and I
read on the Knowledge Base that you can digitally sign a
macro to allow it to run even when security is at high,
and it showed how to add a digital signature to a macro,
but when I goto Tools/Digital Signature... in the VB
project window to choose one there are none listed. Where
do these signatures come from? Is there a way to create a
digital signature and apply it to my own personal macros
so that my settings can still be set to high but my macro
will run without prompting me to enable it?

Thanks in advance,
Freddy G

Run selfcert.exe, which comes as an optional installation for Office. You
can use that to create signing certificates that will be trusted on your own
machine.
