Digital video fine, no sound

When using the DV wire to hook up the computer to the Digital Camcorder, I
get great video transfer but no sound. Why is that? I was told to download an
update for my audio driver so it recognizes the sound coming from the
comcorder but am unable to find it. What do I do? Let me know. Anybody?
