digital rights management

I just received my new laptop. After uploading my music and video onto the
computer, I went into Windows Movie Maker and tried to import the music and
received this message:
The file C:\Documents and Settings\ChrissyO\My Documents\My
Music\Nickelback\Silver Side Up\05 Just For.wma is protected using digital
rights management and cannot be imported.

It only shows up with music I uploaded by hand, not music that came with the
computer. I didn't not have this problem on my last computer and cannot
figure out what I did differently this time around.

I assume the music is music you purchased with iTunes or some other download
service?
One way to remove the Digital Rights is to burn the songs to CD then "rip"
them again with Media Player but first turn "Digital Rights Management
(DRM)" off.
