DigiBookShelf alternative

I love DigiBookShelf (http://www.digibook.com/en/index.html).

It's an application that lets me arrange my digital photos into "virtual
albums" on a bookshelf. It lets me add either individual files or entire
folders.

The only thing I don't like about DigiBookShelf is that it takes a copy of
my digital photos and puts it into it's own data folder. Isn't that
redundant? Wasted space? I'd rather keep all my photos in the folder(s)
that I've always had them in (D:\My Pictures) and have the application point
to them in those folders.

Any recommendation for another application that has the "Photo Album"
appearance and this feature?

Thank you.

Maybe have look at Picasa http://www.picasa.com/content/learn_more.php?

Very attractive GUI although it puts small .ini in your picture folders to
keep the album structure . Only keeps copies of originals when you have
performed any edits, but that is actually quite helpful. Doesn't integrate
with any third-party editing software but that isn't a major obstacle. Worth
a look IMO.
