Hello, I have been reading posts all over the Internet about
reinstalling XP. The posts from psongman are quite interesting as he
seems to be having the sortof the same dilemma as I have been
experiencing. Can you or can you not install Windows XP from burning
the i386 folder and accessing it after you have put in a boot disk for
Win98, bootdisk.com etc.?
Would downloading the 6 setup floppies make the reinstall easier? I
mean in the sense that you don't keep trying to make cd's that your
blank hard drive won't read but a method that will get you into the
setup. I have tried a few of the scenarios mentioned on the Web but
none have actually started the setup. Many web pages claim that a
method they describe will get the job done but I haven't seen the
fruits of this labor yet. Finally, I know having the original CD would
be nice, but mine didn't come with one, and I really wanted to start
off fresh, so I wiped the hard drive and am starting from scratch. So,
please help me with this reinstallation project, sampledp
