Different formatting for related text

Hi, I have a need for a table where different rows need different formatting
options.
A simple 1 column table could be as follows:
"Blue background" (This text should have a background colour of Blue)
"Green background" (This text should have a background colour of Green)
"Red background" (This text should have a background colour of Red)
Different background colours is just one example, font weight and style
could also vary.
The different formatting must be available to be printed e.g. "Blue
background" - Would appear printed as black text printed on a blue
background. It would be nice if the formatting appeared on a screen form but
is only essencial on the report.

I have tried linking to a speadsheet where the text is formatted correctly
but any formatting is striped when viewed in access.

You can't do this in a table.

You can use conditional formatting in forms and reports to accomplish this.
