What different is between 3Com and Realtek Nic?

Do you actually mean:

"Why do all the computers in my network
have either Realtek or 3Com NIC's?"

If so, it's likely because Realtek supplies almost
all the integrated NIC's (the ones that come on the
motherboard) and 3Com supplies
most of the aftermarket PCI card variety.
