Different backends

Hi

I have a single front end to which I would like to select one of two
backbends at start-up. How can I accomplish this via code? Also is it
possible to leave the "active" backend to last used at next start-up unless
user wants to change?

Let's tackle the second question first.

When you say "leave the 'active' backend to last used", are you saying you
want whatever backend you used this time to be the backend for next time? If
so, that's the default behavour.
