Difference between XP Home & XP Professional

What is the difference between XP Home and XP Professional? Is it worth
upgrading?

I am trying to find out myself. A friend told me that the XP Professional is
more error-free. Other than that it has a lot of networking bells and
whistles that I don't particularly need. So I am interested in finding out
more about this too.

For those who have to ask, the answer is almost certainly that
it's not worth upgrading.

XP Professional and XP Home are exactly the same in all respects,
except that Professional has a few features (mostly related to
networking and security) missing from Home. For most (but not
all) home users, these features aren't needed, would never be
used, and buying Professional instead of Home is a waste of
money.

Also note that Professional allows ten concurrent network
connections, and Home only five.

Your friend is completely wrong. The two are identical in that
respect.

See the message I just sent in this thread.

Thanks a lot Ken. I checked the articles you referred to, that information
was really excellent. :)
