Difference between OST And PST

Can you explain difference beween OST and PST ?
When i configure out look when it will take store OST and when it will store
PST?

ost is used in an Exchange account setup, pst is created as a local msg
store
If you are a 'normal' home user you wont be using Exchange

OSTs are also used for IMAP and HTTP accounts too, iirc.

OST's are EX only. HTTP and IMAP stores use PST files.

Is that version dependent? I swear I've had an OST for HTTP accounts in the
past.
 
Not AFAIK, OST's have always been linked to an Exchange profile and logon
that I know of.
