Hello,
I created a web page and published successfully.
after doing that, I saved everything. But the next time, I
couldn't open the file through 'open web'. I only could do
that by 'open file'.

Thanks!

I rarely, if ever, use open file... never need to open a single file.
I always use open web. The trick is that you only have to have the
directory open. Don't look to select a file, because it doesn't work that
way. I was tricked at first too. Not sure if that is your problem or not.
If you are a directory above, you can select "open web" and select the
folder name. If you are in that folder, you don't select anything. Do
"Open Web" and click okay.

Hope this helps

Another way is with the Windows explorer. You can go to the "index.htm"
file, single click with a left mouse then click right mouse and hold. When
the menu appears, choose edit file. This will bring the entire web up... in
FrontPage.

Thats because you probably only created a loose page, you will have problems with that.

When you start you always want to create a web first, then the individual pages within the web.

I wonder why MS put that command in there. I never found any reason to use it.

I've used it a couple of times...suppose you want to open just a loose page.

vewy intwesting, just used it and was supprized to discover that it opened the web as well.
Just saved myself another step.
So I guess you CAN just open a file as long as it's already in a web?
Even with explorer/edit in FP...long way to go about it though.

Dunno cause I only use it to edit lonely pages to see how they were constructed.

One that is standing out in the rain all by itself on a friday night.

| Still trying to figure out what is a "lonely page".

Humor aside, it's a page that is not linked to by any
other page.
