Hi,

Do yo not think it's strange that my copy of XP did not ask me to enter
product key when installing. It's an OEM version Dell.

No. It's not unusual. Many OEM installations are "pre-activated." Dell
systems falls into this category. An activation request would only appear
under very specific conditions on these computers.
