dictionary function in Word?

I use to be able to bring up a dictionary lookup function, but for some
reason I can not get it to show on the pull down menu any longer, what do i
need to do to fix this problem?

Word has a spelling checker, but only the latest version (Word 2003)
lets you look up the meanings of words -- and that requires an
Internet connection.

Did you have a separate dictionary program that added a menu item to
Word? If so, make sure that program is installed correctly. You may
need to remove it and reinstall it.

What version of Word are you using? Tools=>Lookup Reference was replaced by Tools=>Research in Word 2003, Word 97 used MS
Bookshelf, Word 2000 and 2002 have a couple of little quirks for getting the 'lookup' command to appear and work.

Did you make any option/configuration changes in using Word or add-ins to Word recently?
