Dialup sending constant data stream?

Running XP Home. My dialup connection is constantly sending 7kb/sec
whenever I am connected to the Net. Are there any known issues about
this?

(I only receive about 1kb/sec. I also have Win98 dual-boot on the same
PC and it works fine)

Would suggest installing and running AdAware from:
www.lavasoft.com
and SpyBot from:
http://www.safer-networking.org/
Both are free.
XP AntiSpy will stop info going back to MS.

Also
Make sure you have an up to date firewall.

scan for viruses, you may have one of the mass mailing viruses.
