Dialup Problems, Network OK

I have configured a working network between 3 XP
computers. All can share files, and access the Internet
just fine via the server's broadband (cable). However,
when disconnecting from the network, neither client's
dialup internet connection can no longer browse the
Internet or use OE mail. Yet, utilizing the dialup
connection each machine can successfully ping various web
sites (e.g. yahoo.com or www.yahoo.com). In case it's
meaningful, I have noted that when browsing from the
network's broadband connection for, example, Google.com,
IE displays that it is finding the "www" address; while
the dialup is locating a numerical IP address (and
subsequently returns the "Page not found" and DNS or
server errors)

One client was configured using XP's network wizard, the
other was done manually. Neither machine is running XP's
firewall. Both have ZoneAlarm Standard installed, but
I've disengaged it when testing dialup (and
rebooted "clean".)

I have also added a new network (dialup) connection,
thinking that maybe the original was corrupted; same
thing.

The Dialup configuration is as follows:
TCP/IP - Obtain IP address auto
- use the following DNS servers (as required by the ISP)
General - use default gateway on remote
- POP link - use IP header
DNS - Append primary, append parent
- (Don't) register connection in DNS
WINS - (none)
- enable LMHOSTS (note - have also tried disabling)
- disable NetBIOS (have also tried enabling)

While connected via dialup, Windows IPCONFIG returns the
following data:
Primary DNS suffix - (blank)
Node type - unknown
IP Routing enabled - no
WINS proxy enabled - no

PPP Adapter - New
Description - WAN (PPP/SLIP)
DHCP enabled - no
IP - 216.etc
Default Gateway - 216.etc
DNS servers - 205.etc; - 205.etc
Subnet Mask - 255.255.255.255
NetBIOS over TCP/IP - disabled

The network settings on the client with manual
configuration are:
Local Area Connection (Broadcom adapter for my phoneline
network)
Installed items: Client for MS Net, File/Print sharing,
QoS packet, TCP/IP
TCP/IP properties: IP address 192.168.0.2
- Subnet 255.255.255.0
- Default Gateway 192.168.0.1
- Preferred DNS server 192.168.0.1
DNS - append primary, append parent
- Register this connection DNS
WINS - (none)
- enable LMHOSTS
- NetBIOS = Default
- Options - TCP/IP filtering

Any ideas as to why this conflict occurs will be greatly
appreciated, as I really want to maintain individual
dialup capabilities in addition to the network.
