dialup disconnects every 15 mins

just a week ago my dialup started disconnecting me every 15 mins. then
notices pop up saying :

cannot find dialog
error 623: the system could nto find the phone book entry for this connection

can anybody help me or tell me whats wrong? is it a virus?

Hi BJ,

just a week ago my dialup started disconnecting me every 15 mins. then
notices pop up saying :

I had my brother-in-laws computer do that once.

Whatever we did, it disconnected after 15 minutes, to the second.

I was an internal modem .... I tried everything ... and I'm not
exactly a novice on the subject.

I ended up replacing it with an external modem. Since then NO problem.

I never figured out, why this modem did what it did ... I ended up
jumping on it in the yard .... studpid thing!!
