dialup connection

I recently upgraded to XP Pro, and promptly crashed my
system a day or two later while trying to get Norton
products to install. As a result of the crash, I had to
re-install over my previous installation. To do this, I
had to go in to my computers bios and reset it to boot
from cd - it was dead in the water.

Anyway, before the Norton fiasco, everything was working
fine. After the reload, however, I have no way to set up
my internet connection via modem - which is how I was
connected originally.

In the hardware section of device manager, the modem is
shown and recognized correctly, and diagnostics indicates
that it is working. However, when I click on start, the
menu pops up and all that is shown is "Network
Connections" every article I've seen about installing a
dialup connection indicates that this is suppose to
say "Network and Internet Connections". If I start the
New Network Connection" wizard, the option for setting up
a dialup connection is dimmed out.

Any suggestions???
