dialog boxes transparent

I am having a problem in Word (and also in other Office programs) where dialog boxes are coming up mostly transparent so I can't manipulate the settings. Any ideas why this is happening or how I can fix it? I am running Office 2010 on Windows 7 64-bit.

RAM shouldn't be a problem, I have 8GB.
