Dial-Up program

Hi, my computer recently got infected by a virus that keeps altering my
dial-up connection so that it rings a premium rate number. At first I reset
my dial-up information only to find that while on the net it reconfigured
this and went back to the old settings. I checked my bootup programs list and
found a program that was loading everytime I was booting up, so I deleted
that as well but still the same thing happens.
Is there any other way to remove this malicious software? Possibly from
accessing my registry?

Thanks for any help.

First eliminate any spyware.
What You Should Know About Spyware

CAUTION!!!!! Before you try to remove spyware using any of these programs ,
download a copy of LSPFIX from any of the following sites:
http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm
http://www.spychecker.com/program/winsockxpfix.html
(if your OS is Win2k or XP) The process of removing certain malware may kill
your internet connection. If this should occur, this program, LSPFIX, will
enable you to regain your connection.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated with the program's update function
before every use, even when just downloaded. There's also a lot more to do
than just those two programs. CWShredder is also available here:

Do you have Ad-Aware SE ( http://www.lavasoftusa.com/support/download/ )
and Spybot Search and Destroy (
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/index.html ) ?
They are both free, but you will see links accepting donations on both
sites. Go ahead and download, install and run both programs. I suggest using
Ad-Aware first, then Spybot S&D. Make sure to read the "Help" and "Read me"
files to learn how to update and use these programs. After you clear the
spyware from your system, you may want to download Spyware Blaster (
http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html ) to prevent a lot of
the spyware from being installed in the first place. This is also a free
program, and quite effective. Make sure to update all the programs often.

Good luck.
