dial-up option not selectable

My brother recently upgraded from XP Home to Pro. He
uses dial-up, but when he went to create a new connection
with the wizard (for some reason the connection he used
with Home wasn't working), it would not let him select
dial-up modem or broadband that requires a user name and
password. His modem is properly detected and configured,
so I'm a little stumped. Unfortunately, he's not
especially computer savvy, and doesn't live near enough
for me to go check it out first hand, so I was hoping
somebody might have an idea what's going on and propose a
quick fix. Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

I have the same problem since my Dell crashed because Dell
installs incompatible (with XP software). I've had no
luck fixing it. I doubt if that is any help to you, but
you're not alone.
