dial up networking disabled

Can anyone help with the fact that Windows XP has disabled my dial up
networking and when creating a new connection the dial up option is grayed
out.

Tried all of the fixs and still no luck. The area remains grayed out.

Does your modem appear in the config.. go to Hardware Device Manager and
check it out..

Yes and downloaded new drivers, etc.
