Dial-Up Modem Error 633

I have been trying to identify a problem with my Dial-Up modem. A
problem exists where the connection is dropped, a redial is attempted,
but something in the system is still seeing the connection as open. But
when I look at the connection, it says it is closed. I have been
looking for causes and ways to correct this, but so far nothing has
worked. The modem is a: Conexant D850 PCI V.92 Modem.

Frankly, I don't know what to post here. There is so much information
that I could give I don't know what information would be useful in
asking for help.

I run a diagnostic, but it says it can't find anything wrong. I have
generated a Remote Access Diagnostic Report, but communication systems
is not one of my strong areas and I don't know what to look for.

So far the only way to recover from this problem is to reboot the PC.

I would appreciate any help, anyone could provide.

Thank you,

Richard..

P.S. If this is the wrong forum to post, please direct me to the correct
one.

Hi Richard,
Can you collect the following logs and send them to me? I will see
whats going wrong

RAS Logs
To collect these logs execute the following from elevated command prompt

. netsh ras set tr * en This enables RAS tracing
. <recreate the issue>
. netsh ras set tr * di This disables RAS tracing

This will generate log files in the %windir%\tracing directory. Please
zip the files and send them to me

thanks
Aanand

I had the same error message 633 when setting up dial-up networking. In the
internet explorer options I had to set the connection to never disconnect. I
then went to the modem options and only configured the modem to disconnect
after the desired time. When both Internet Explorer and the modem were
configured to turn off after a desired time the error message 633 show and
the system was unstable.
