Dial up icons

Hi, i use a dial up connection to connect to the internet this shows in the
task bar when connected. can anyone tell me how come i also have two others?
One has a balloon that keeps popping up saying Local Area Cnnection Cable
uplugged and the other says 1394 connection. The 1394 connection shows its
connected even when i'm not online. Do i need these? Thanks

The 1394 Connection can use your computer's IEEE 1394 (FireWire) port
for networking. The Local Area Connection can use your computer's
Ethernet port for networking.

Since you don't use those ports for networking, open the Network
Connections Folder, right-click the unused connections, and disable
them.
