dial-up connection

Why won't win xp let me create a dial-up connection? My
modem is installed and responds to modem query but when I
try to create a dial-up the wizard only gives me the
option to connect thru broadband which i don't have. I
can only connect thru my home network. I checked the com
ports and there is only lpt, so I installed a new com and
still the same results.
Any help would be great.

Have you done either a repair install or system restore?

If so, look at this:

Went through with the removal of 25, and 26 from the
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\RasMan
\PPP\EAP\ key

Try that. Let me know if it works.
