I'm running Windows Vista Home Premium & connected via broadband with
tiscali. Windows Mail randomly pops up the dial-up conection box but I can't
get rid of this. I just click on the 'x' at top right and it goes, only to
reappear at some random time. It's not a problem as such, just irritating.
Any ideas anyone?

Tools | Accounts
Do this for every account:
Select the account and click Properties.
On the Connection tab uncheck "Always connect to this account using:".

Unfortunately, I can't do this, as every time I click on the 'properties'
box (of either of the 2 accounts for tiscali that are shown) the tab panel
greys out and the application closes down.

That mail account is corrupted. Delete the account, restart Windows Mail,
then recreate that account.

Thanks, Gary. Your advice has stopped both problems.
