I am trying to use remote desktop or remote assistance by directly dialling
up the computer with a modem attached. Is there anyway of doing that?
Perhaps there is a KB article on this.

Thanks

Ed

No but there is a wizard and a help file.

Network Connections - Create A New Connection

Remote assistance and remote desktop is only able to be used via a broadband
connection via the internet using your computers IP address. I guess you
might be able to use the feature if you connect the remote computer to the
internet via dialup and then know the associated IP address then connect
remotly to it, but I do not believe there is a Direct Dial In feature to
these programs.....
