DHCP

I am going to replace the main (first) DC in the domain. It is running 2k. I
have installed the new DC and it is running well. I am preparing to move the
5 major roles to the new DC, two of which I have to seize because they belong
to a server that isn't even in the picture. How do I transfer the DHCP
configuration to the new DC? What order should I transfer the roles and DHCP?
I have installed the DHCP service on the new DC but it still is not
confugured with a scope.

How to move a DHCP database from a computer that is running Windows NT
Server 4.0, Windows 2000, or Windows Server 2003 to a computer that is
running Windows Server 2003

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/325473/en-us

if you are referring to transferring the fsmo roles, it doesn't matter what
order you do that in-before or after moving your dhcp over
just remember to do it before removing old server

Can you think of anything else I need to do besides the fsmo roles and DHCP?
I believe the new DC is already a dns server.

I believe the new DC is already a dns server.

The roles on the old currently running DC will automatically transfer when
it is DCPromo'ed down to a member server. The DCPromo process will transfer
them to the remaining DC. It is only the roles on the missing one that you
have to grab.

Normally, when all the old DCs still exist and are running you just DCPromo
them down and everything takes care of itself except the Global Catalog
toggle which you can easily toggle manually.
