DHCP SERVER SLOWS INTERNAL NETWORK

H

HAPS

Hi
I am facing a serious problem with my DHCP Server. I have
DHCP installed on W2K ADS Platform. I have WatchGuard
Firewall. I have configured my dhcp server as.
Scope Range :192.1.1.1 to 192.1.1.254
SCOPE OPTIONS (DNS SERVER) :203.124.136.19&26 (ISP DNS)
& 192.1.1.2 (INTERNAL DNS)
SERVER OPTIONS (DNS SERVER) :203.124.136.19&26 (ISP DNS)
Router :192.1.1.130 (Firwall IP)
Server Options : 192.1.1.2

Now, In this configuration 98 Clients are working fine
with Internet and Internal Network Browsing). Windows XP
CLients are facing problem with DHCP. If they are getting
Internet then they will not get 192.1.1.2 domain. If I
delete that entry from SCOPE then they will get internet
perfectly but they will not get 192.1.1.2 domain. Please
explain me why my internal network goes slow if I am
giving Internal DNS entry in DHCP. AM I giving the
configuration correctly.

You should configure clients (configure your DHCP scope to only provide your
internal DNS server) to use your internal DNS server for the domain and
configure your internal DNS server to forward to your ISPs DNS server.
