DHCP server denies IP-Adresslease - no internet pages displayed

I run a Zyxel PRESTIGE 600 router where 4 PCs are linked to my provider. 3 of
them work properly. On my Vaio computer I am not able to see anymore any
internet pages. I always get the info "page cannot be displayed" "cannot find
server". Interestingly, the Outlook Express works properly also the virus
life update has any problems. Looking at the error protocoll it tells me that
the DHCP server does not accept the IP Adress. However, the computer gets the
IP-Adress automatically from the Zyxel Router. I am able to ping the DHCP
server but not my own IP Address. Checking all the settings did not help
either.

After investing a full day I am really desperate. Thanks for your help.

Looks like a typical spyware infestation. Use
http://www.michna.com/kb/wxnet.htm to solve this problem.

Thank you very much for the hint. In the end your interesting tool did not
help but I think that the point with the spyware was correct. After using the
spyware software (which produced an error) I downloaded service pack 2. This
solved the problem.

I just updated http://www.michna.com/kb/wxnet.htm to include the
spyware removal procedure in connection with Winsock corruption
symptoms. Thanks for this hint.

Service Pack 2 has a significantly improved firewall, which will
provide reasonably good protection from Internet attacks. It's a
good idea to have it installed.
