dhcp relay agent and windows 98/ME

B

Bob Dorn

two servers...server A with public interface on nic 1 and
private interface on nic two. server A is DHCP, DNS,
and NAT.

Server B has private interface on nic 1 on same subnet
net as private interface on nic 2 of Server A. Interface
nic 2 on server B, different subnet. DHCP relay agent on
nic 2 on server B, routing to dhcp server on server A,
superscope on dhcp server for subnet with relay agent.

Off of server A's private interface DHCP, DNS, NAT works
just fine with XP, 2000, 98, ME...how ever off of server
B nic two (the one with the dhcp relay) Only XP and 2000,
get addresses, not 98 or ME....any ideas why these
clients arent picking up an address from this subnet ?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Bob,

The problem is you have configured a superscope and don't need one. You
should have a separate scope for the remote clients.

Thanks,
