DHCP Help

Eduardo Sicouret

Hello:

I have the following scenario:

I have 1 Windows 2000 DHCP Server.
I have 1 Network with the following address: 10.10.176.0 Mask:
255.255.252.0
I have 2 network switch capable of configure VPN's

I want to know if is possible to:

Assign one scope to one switch i.e. 10.10.176.100 to 10.10.176.199 and
another scope to the other switch i.e. 10.10.177.100 to 10.10.177.199, with
just one DHCP Server with the IP 10.10.176.1.

Please help me with this. Is this solution possible?

Eduardo,

Yes, it is possible and here are two articles that will explain how to cover multiple subnets with
one DHCP server:

120932 DHCP: Spanning Multiple Subnets
http://kb/article.asp?id=Q120932

161571 Using DHCP "Superscopes" to Serve Multiple Logical Subnets
http://kb/article.asp?id=Q161571

Hope this helps,
Gary
