DHCP Exclusions

Add a scope for a non-existent network range, e.g., if you are
using 192.168.1.x then add a scope for 172.31.255.255-255.

Then create a superscore of the real and "phony" scopes (just
to make the DHCP server work correcty even though this is not
a true "multinet."

Set a reservation for the bogus MAC to the ONLY address
(which is pretty much worthless without explicit routing) in the
"phone" scope.)

Set the manul reservation options to anything/everything you can
think of to make sure it never works correctly. (e.g., phony
DNS server, phone WINS server, phony Router, etc.)

Thanks! Fantastic!

Thanks! Fantastic!

Did it work? Did it do what you hoped?

Did you elaborate my solution in any interesting ways?

You do realize this isn't real security as the machine (in question)
can still be manually set -- even to YOUR DHCP assigned addresses?
