DHCP error with previously working RIS setup

Cosechador

We had RIS setup and working on the following network:

Two Domain Controllers both with DNS, and DHCP.
RIS setup on one of the domain controller.
Both servers have 2 active NICs (one has a 3rd card that is disabled)
on separate subnets

RIS has been working for about 8 months without any problems.
Recently when trying to boot from the floppy or the PXE client we get
a message saying "No reply from a server" when it tries to query DHCP.
We have confirmed that DHCP is running and providing leases and there
are no errors in the Event Logs.

Any ideas are what might cause our problem?

Thanks,

David

Does RIS work ok with clients that are booting from their nics (a F12 start
for many pcs) rather than the boot floppy? I wasn't sure from your message.

Does RIS work on any of the subnets?

Have there been changes to your routers so the dhcp relay/helper addresses
now do not point to the dhcp server *and* the RIS server? Is port 4011 now
closed when it was previously open?

Try authorizing all ip addresses on the RIS server - but authorize by ip
address rather than by name, and make sure to specify *all* ip addresses.

On the RIS server, do a Start>Run>"RISETUP -check" (without quotes, click
OK).

RIS can get flaky when your server is multihomed. Remove unneeded nics, not
just disable them.
