I have just updated my McAfee VirusScan software to
version 7.03.6000 and my workstation will no longer log on
to our Windows NT 4.0 server. It appears that the
NetLogon Service will not start on startup and it gives me
an error 5737 when I try to start it manually. Has anyone
run into problems with this update? Any ideas about fixes?

Hello Micheal,

Try this:

Use REDEDIT not regedt32 to remove the following key. Make
sure to backup the registry or at least save the key before removing it.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CCS\Services\WinSock2\Parameters\Protocol_Catalog9
\Catalog
_Entries\000000000001 you will notice that there are references to
winsock dll
files. In the binaries, if you click on the value PackedCatalogitem you
will see
the DLL referenced. We saved of the key and then deleted it.
Rebooted and came up correctly. He was able to get a DHCP address.

If that Fails you may need to remove TCP/IP - then delete the Winsock2 key
entirely
- reboot and then re-add TCP/IP

The file referenced will be webhdll.dll

This worked in one reference that I know of.
