DFS Replication

I am having trouble with my DFS Replication accross the
WAN. I am currently running one DFS root and nine DFS
links in diffrent locations. If I drop a folder with
about 100MB of data. It basically shuts down my WAN
connections. All of my remote sites have a T1 connection.
When we tested DFS with one root and three links we
didn't have any trouble saturating the WAN. Is it
possible to throttle the replication?

The only throttle mechanism in FRS (FRS is used to replicate data in DFS
replicas) is to set up the connection schedule. The connection schedule
will allow you to set time windows when replication will occur on a
connection basis. The following KB articles explains some of this.

Given the connection topology and your connection schedule, you may be able
to stagger the replication times and schedule them for non-peak hours. You
may want to consult the following KB article as it contains links to more
detailed information.

There are some things to note when setting up the schedule. This is called
out in the documentation.

1) When replicating DFS replicas, the connection is terminated when the
replication window ends. This means if you have changes that need
replicating, they won't replicate until the next open window.

2) Be careful with your replication topology. Verify it's set up to work
well with your network topology.
