DEVICE NOT DETECTED

In windows movie maker, I have edited photos and finalized the photos to a
movie and now am trying to save to a cd. I insert a blank cd-r in the burner
and it says ,A recordable device not detected. How do I fix this problem? If
I go to start, my computer and right click on that drive it won't open,
appears to be empty.
 
So if you right click on the drive in "My Computer" the menu doesn't come
up?
That sounds like either a problem with the drive itself or possibly the
software.
Check the manufacturers website for a driver or firmware update.
