device manager

I feel like a complete idiot, but have to ask this
question! I am trying to get into "device manager"
because I am trying to set up a scanner and it tells me
that i have a "twain" error. So... when I go to "my
computer" I cannot get into "properties" in order to get
into my device manager. This hasn't happened before.
HELP!!!

go to start menu - settings - control panel- system -

click the hardware tab and you'll see device manager
button . i'm sure there's an easier way to get there but
it works

Right click My Computer/Manage/Device Manager
