I am aware that it is possible to put a shortcut to the Device Manager on
the Desktop - can anyone tell me the shortcut path (location)

Hello,

You typically access the Device Manager through the System Control Panel
applet (go to Start, Settings, Control Panel, System, Hardware, Device
Manager). To create a Device Manager shortcut on the desktop, perform the
following steps:

1) Right-click the desktop.
2) Select New > Shortcut from the displayed context menu.
3) For the item's location, type devmgmt.msc, and click Next.
4) Name the shortcut Device Manager, then click Finish.

Thanks,

Thanks - just what I was after..
