Device manager List is empty!

OK - first I'll ask the obvious and hope you don't get insulted
and want to kill me - I have no idea as to the level of your expertise.

Did you click on the little "plus box" next to the name of your computer?

I have the same problem , when I go into properties and click on the hardware tab in system properties the window is totally empty. Also when I go to my computer I get the flashlight (searching) and it takes about 2 minutes to find everything. Same goes for the addrress bar when I click on the down arrow it highlights the bar and it takes about 2 minutes before it gives me the menu.
