I have had an intermittent problem whereby XP crashes with a corrupt
registry problem. I read it could be a device driver which needs
upgrading. However if I try start Device Manager to see what drivers
are installed this causes the crash straight away. Has anybody
experienced this before or know how to circumvent device manager to
load new drivers?
thanks

I just had the same problem arise yesterday...

My computer resets or crashes if I try to open Device Manager. I know
Device Manager was working fine only 2 days ago.

I don't know how to fix this or what is wrong... I did a virus scan. No
viruses...

My computer still runs the same, but I can't access the Device Manager
without it crashing! Argh....

It's very frustrating. But if iyou know that it was working couple o
days ago you could probably go back to a previous restore point and i
may fix

You're right! System Restore worked like a charm!

I still don't know what the root of the problem was, but going back to a
restore point from about a week ago fixed it.

Thanks!
