device driver

hello, I have just loaded windows 2000 prof. on a laptop
for the first time. Bur the display only gives me an
option for 16 colours. Device manager shows a question
mark with a yellow circle against video controller (vga
compatable) and when I do a search I cannot find a device
driver. Can anyone help please.
 
Check the hardware manufacturer's web site for the latest Windows 2000
driver for your device.
