Developers Tools and Much Confusion

Does anyone know if I can use Microsoft Office 2000 Developer edition with
Access 2002? Also, if I swallow the pill and upgrade to MS Visual Studio
Tools, can I then use it with older (98/200) versions of Office AND leave
the db's compatible with the original versions?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

I have posted a question about the Developers Edition of
Access 2 questions prior to this one. Please put anything
you find out about all this onto this website, I think I
know what I am doing and what I need to purchase, but the
more knowledge the better.
