Destop appearance won't save modifications

When I make a change to the desktop appearance, and do a
save as, calling it My Favorite Theme.theme, then reload,
I get white boxes around the pulldown menus in the title
bar in certain programs like Free cell. If I make the
changes and keep the file as the default name that
Windows assigns, like Windows XP modified, it looks like
what I set up, i.e. no white boxes. I have verified all
colour settings in the appearance-advanced tab to be sure
both files had the same palatte, for all options. Is
there something I'm doing wrong?

Someone else will probably come up with a better answer, Ron, but have you
tried waiting a while before reloading. That is, give the new settings time
to be register. Going too fast can often interrupt this causing infinished
configs with peculiar results.

I have delayed the reload but not sure how long it would
take. Just seems anytime I use the save-as file, I get
the boxes eventhough the colour palettes are identical.
