Desktop won't enlarge

I have tried to go into the display settings and resize the pixels and size
but the image wobnt fit the screen. I have a fat black box around it. anyone
have any other ideas. Also when i used to close my screen my computer would
turn off, now it wont. I havent messed with any of the settings so im not
sure whats wrong with my computer...

any help would be greatly appreciated.

If your image doesn't fit the screen you probably need to use your monitor
controls to resize (usually at the front, maybe under flap, at the
bottom/front of the monitor)
