Desktop wallpaper not working

My wife installed a program from the internet called SpyTracker. I deleted
that program through Add/Remove Programs. After the reboot a WARNING html
page was displayed instead of my wallpaper, I deleted the html file and now
my desktop displays a white background no matter which wallpaper I choose.
Any way to get my wallpaper to display?

Try this: Go to the "Display" settings in the "Control Panel". From there go
to the "Desktop" tab and select "Customize Desktop" down at the bottom. Then
go to "Web" tab and uncheck any web pages you might see there.

This is most likely a desktop item set by a trojan/malware. Try this:

Open Control Panel, double-click Display.
Click the Desktop tab, and choose "Customize Desktop".
Select the "Web" tab
Delete all the items except "My current Home page"
Uncheck "My current Home page"
Click OK, and now select (None) as your Desktop background
Click OK and close the dialog.

Follow-up with a thorough malware cleanup. Begin with the stand-alone
scanner from Trend Micro, named "Sysclean" package. Trend Micro's Sysclean
package (free), it's capable of eliminating keyloggers, trojans etc. Full

I too have managed to get this problem on my xp build (win xp pro, service
pack one). I followed the instructions here, but it hasnt solved anything.
When I go into display options on my control panel, everything in desktop is
disabled, I cannot select none as a desktop. Please help, looking at a blue
screen is irritating me, as its something I have been unable to fix!
