Hi,

I'm using Windows XP, and am trying to post a picture of a person as
my desktop wallpaper. When I use "Stretch," the picture looks
stretched out; when I use "center" it zooms the picture in the middle
and cuts off the person's head. How do I fix this problem?

Hello,

You can try resizing the image with an image editor to the size/
resolution of your desktop.
IMPORTANT - make a copy of the image so you can leave the original
intact and work with the copy.
This freeware will do the job:
IrfanView
http://www.irfanview.com/

If you decide to use this program, go to Image => Resize/Resample.
On the right are some standard options, e.g. your current screen
resolution or 'Best fit to desktop'.

REMEMBER - use your copy to work with!

Good Luck!

Here's what I did.. I pasted a photo on a larger background, saved and
stretched it. It took a few tries to get something that did just what I
wanted, which was to display the photo to the right of all the desktop
icons.
